Josh Oltman
Assistant Coach

Assistant Coach Josh Oltmans joined the Tigers in the summer of 2007.
Oltmans first years at Doane was spent as the pitching coach and he help guide the Tiger staff as they cut their ERA by more than two full runs a game over three years.  When he joined the coaching ranks, Doane was coming off a year in which the team had an ERA over 7.00.  In 2010, the staff posted an ERA of 4.93.

Now serving as the outfield coach, Oltmans has helped the Tigers become a solid defensive group.  In 2011, Mike Albert earned GPAC Gold Glove honors in right field. Josh also handles third base coaching duties and assists in recruiting.

A graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University (S.D.), Oltmans was an NAIA Scholar-Athlete his senior year and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and a minor in communications.

Before playing at Dakota Wesleyan, Oltmans played for Coach Jorgensen at McCook Community College. He served as a co-captain at MCC and was an Academic All-American. During his college career Oltmans was a pitcher and an outfielder. He also played in the Boise Collegiate Summer League in Idaho.

Coach Oltmans has coached legion baseball in Los Lunas, New Mexico and his home town of Nelson, Nebraska.

Josh is a certified Hardstyle Kettlebell (HKC) instructor and works in the Doane Admission Office.
